About.
Hel is the daughter of Loki and the queen of the dishonored dead — those who do not die in battle, but rather because of illness or old age. She rules Niflheim, and is often accompanied by Garmr, an oversized hound with dark, bloodstained fur.
Her wiki page is here, though be warned of spoilers.
I love AUs, and I particularly have a soft spot for the MCU, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones. (I even have an MCU canon-compliant AU journal, lol.)
Her birth name is Geiravor Lokisdottir. She is the eldest daughter of Loki, and sister to Sleipnir, Fenris, and Jormungandr.
She grew up in Asgard as Odin's ward alongside the Allfather's twin sons, Baldr and Hodr. While initially dismissive of Hodr's attempt to befriend her, the pair of them grew close over time, and they inevitably pursued their affections when they got older.
At some point she became queen of Jotunheim, and Hodr swore fealty to her instead of his father, leading to a war with Asgard. The Jotnar ultimately lost. She and Hodr were imprisoned in Asgard, and later punished. Hodr had his eyes taken, while she was banished and her name Erased. The effects of her Erasure were demonstrated by Hodr being unable to say her name (except in his mind), her face being smudged and distorted in all the paintings of her in Niflheim's palace, and Baldr being unable to recall who she was until she called up his memories by force, but even then he felt like he would easily forget her again.
She wound up in Niflheim, and eventually became so revered by the Dead that they made her their queen. She went by the name of Helreginn, or Hel for short.
While she is no shapechanger or elementalist, her chaos magic manifests in the form of reality warping, which include glamour, astral projection, and illusions. Unlike the Valkyries, she doesn't need a rune to dreamwalk.
I usually play her post-banishment but pre-Ragnarok/pre-trilogy, or AU'd into other canons.
Generally, she's extremely stubborn, and has a very strong sense of personal loyalty. Want someone who would start a war and raise hell for you? A revenge buddy? Someone who can kick your ass but will protect you at the same time? She's your gal. She's clever and scheming; she's the daughter of the Trickster, after all, though she'd also had to capitalize on her other abilities, having had to grow up in Asgard where violence and brute force were highly favored.
Shipping. M/F or F/F; if you're unsure, I'll be happy to plot! Hodr, always. Crosscanon, OCs. Her whole brand is "I Can Fix Him" + "Ride or Die" LOL. As a player I can roll with anything and make any ship work, but crosscanon favorites include Bucky (MCU), Jace (HOTD) and Jag (SW EU).
Fighting/Injury. Player sucks at writing fights, but sure. She's stronger than the average human by default, plus she has had extensive combat training and some tricks and spells hidden up her sleeve. She's had millennia to work on that.
Killing. Yes, but let's plot it out. Unless it's the Train to the Afterlife meme or something... oh wait, she'd be in charge of the Train.
Looking For. Primarily into long-term PSLs these days, especially of the canon mashing and multiversal weirdness variety. Family shenanigans is always loved. Please feel free to DM or PP me on Plurk if you're interested!

β grew up in the ironwoods with her mother and younger brother, but when odin found out that they existed, the siblings were brought to asgard. she was later arranged to be married to hoder, cousin of thor and balder's blind younger twin, as part of odin's plan to subvert a prophecy about her in connection to ragnarok.
β she tried to flee to midgard to escape her fate and managed to disappear for a few days, but her father eventually tracked her down to new york and brought her back at odin's behest.
β she was not seen much at court after she was wed, having busied herself with running her husband's hall and managing their territory. she only returned to valaskjalf when loki was pronounced king after thor's banishment, and she made peace with her father after he revealed what he'd learned about their heritage. when loki was lost after thor destroyed the bifrost, she was placed in house arrest for her involvement in her father's treachery, but "odin" (loki in disguise) would later pardon her and bring her back to court.
β she and fenris sided with hela upon her return to asgard, but she later joined her father, thor and valkyrie and fled from asgard. when thanos and his black order attacked their ship en route to earth, she helped lead the others to escape and eventually settle in tΓΈnsberg (new asgard).
β after the blip, she and hoder decided to part ways. he stayed in new asgard to help valkyrie, while she took off to travel the world. she couldn't explain why, but she'd felt like she'd lost a part of her after the snap, so she decided to go soul-searching.
